Pastoral
Education
This
program is designed to make pastoral leaders prepared for gospel-driven
ministry, leadership in local churches and Christ-centered communities
through an intensive week-long program which is offered three times a
year for three years. All classes are conducted in or interpreted
Khmer. Its
core curriculum includes the training with a strong emphasis on
theological studies in Reformed tradition, with the key courses for
pastoral leadership, practice, oversight and biblical government in the
church, and essential biblical studies for
preaching. This
program is limited to male pastoral leaders in local churches and
requires each student to complete the courses by earning 72 units for
three years. Upon completion, he receives the diploma from
WTCS. The sequence of the courses to be taken depends on the
initial session he takes and how the school arranges for each session.
The
one who has completed the program with a diploma is eligible to apply
for admission to the BA in theology program of WTCS as a third-year
student. It
is required of the student to attend all three sessions (Spring session
in February, Summer session in June, and Fall session in August) for
three years. Any student who takes a self-appointed break from any of
the sessions will be dismissed from the program. The
student is to complete the required course works in three years. Any
who is unable to complete the required course works for graduation in
three years, is allowed to attend additional sessions. For such
students WTCS provides the scholarship for room and board but no travel
voucher.
