Master
of Divinity (MDiv)
This
program is designed
to prepare church leaders to become ordained
pastors,
associate pastors,
church planters,
evangelists,
and missionaries.
They are to believe
and love the Word of God, and they
shall
strive to make disciples of all nations, baptizing them and teaching
them to observe what the LORD has commanded.
This
program equips the future church leaders to understand and interpret
the Scriptures in order to properly handle and preach the Word and to
build up Christ’s church. Each book of the Bible in the curriculum is
studied and some books in greater depth. It also entails significant
study of Greek, Hebrew, systematic theology, historical theology,
practical theology and preaching,
The
degree is conferred upon the completion of the prescribed program,
which requires three years of full-time study or longer of part-time
study. The sequence of courses to be taken could vary depending on the
initial semester of the year the
student takes.
Master
of Arts (MA)
This
program is designed
for men and women to gain
the
knowledge
and skills needed to apply biblical truth to the intellectual issues
confronting the church and the surrounding culture, and to develop the knowledge
and skills in interpreting the Word of God and to improve the ability
to analyze contemporary trends by biblical interpretation with
discernment.
The
degree is conferred upon the completion of the prescribed program,
which requires two years of full-time study or longer of part-time
study. The sequence of courses to be taken may vary depending on the
initial semester of the year the
student takes.
Master
of
Theology
(ThM)
This
program
aims to expand the student’s knowledge of a major field of theology
through training and practice in the use of the methods and tools of
theological research, and thus to be better equipped for his pastoral
ministry, for his/ her teaching ministry or more advanced graduate
study.
The
degree is offered in two fields: Biblical Studies with majors in the
Old Testament or the New Testament; and Theological Studies with majors
in Church History, Systematic Theology, or Apologetics.
The
degree is conferred upon the completion of the following requirements:
knowledge of the original languages of Scripture upon initial
matriculation, completion of six courses from 900s (at least one or
more courses must be in the candidate’s major area of concentration),
submission of a master’s thesis on an approved subject within the
candidate’s major area of concentration, and being sustained on a
comprehensive oral examination of the candidate’s major area of
concentration before committee.
